Hey, fellow puzzle lovers! I am Santi from Mighty Polygon and I am really glad to announce that after three years of development Relicta is available on Xbox One starting today.

From Mighty Polygon, a small Spanish studio with a core team of five people comes Relicta, a first-person physics-based puzzle game where you need to creatively combine magnetism and gravity in order to unravel the secrets of Chandra Base. You will play as Dr. Angelica Patel, a brilliant physicist that is conducting research in an old lunar base long forgotten after the events of the Seventy-Two Minute War. 

When Patel’s daughter, Kira, arrives from Earth to join the research team, an incident occurs that will put their lives in danger and will start to uncover all the secrets buried in the base and held by their inhabitants.

Chandra Base

The lunar base has its own history and was repurposed a few times during its lifetime, starting as an ice mining station in 2058 located in the Shackleton crater, until its last big expansion when Aegir Labs took control of the facilities and started the mining and terraforming of its neighboring craters Shoemaker, Faustini, de Gerlache and Sverdrup to conduct their own private research.  In order to replicate some conditions from Earth for their experiments, they created jungles, forests, deserts and even glaciers in the moon.

Relicta

After some time, the political situation created some tensions between orbital neo-nations which triggered the Seventy-Two Minute War. Shortly after the end of the war the base was sealed and abandoned until some years later when Dr. Patel spearheaded an initiative to reopen the base for scientific purposes which she only was able to achieve thanks to her ex-husband Ragnar, a big player in orbital politics.

Scientific Research

The research team sent to the moon was pretty diverse and ranged from Geologists to Xenoarchaelogists but Patel’s focus as a physicist was a material that had some special properties: it could change its magnetic and gravitational properties with the right stimuli. That was the main secret research that Aegir Labs was conducting in the facilities and part of the motives as to why they terraformed the moon craters. They wanted to test the material’s reactions in different environments, so they created some tests in the new natural areas to expose it to the elements.

On the day that Kira is coming to work with you an incident occurs that puts your lives in danger. Alone in the treacherous depths of the Moon, your scientific mind is the only thing that can keep your daughter alive. Find your way around the enigmatic, terraformed craters by bending gravity and magnetism to your will in order to solve the puzzles in your way.
